  12.      This is a three-part series of tutorial programs that
  13. introduces the student to the elementary concepts of Static
  14. Forces and Moments.  The first part is on Coordinate Systems, the
  15. second on Vectors, and the third on Statics.  This is the
  16. conventional approach to the subject and provides a background
  17. for continuing study of physics and engineering topics.  
  18.  
  19.      The programs were written for VGA color graphics but have
  20. been adapted to operate automatically in EGA or CGA color or
  21. Hercules monographic modes, also.  Each program requires 128K of
  22. RAM.  The programs are on the executable MS-DOS files
  23. COORDSYS.EXE, VECTORS.EXE, and STATICS.EXE and they are run by
  24. typing the words COORDSYS, VECTORS, or STATICS.

  26.      It has been assumed that the student is familiar with
  27. elementary algebra, plane geometry, and plane trigonometry.
  28.  
  29.      Although explained in the programs, it will be emphasized
  30. here that long waits have been introduced between parts of the
  31. programs and you are expected to override them with a return or
  32. space bar entry when you are ready to continue.  However, most
  33. constructions and formula lists proceed automatically at a rate
  34. which is considered appropriate.  Also, after each complete
  35. clearing of the screen (except for the very first one) typing a
  36. 'b' or a 'B' will return you to the previous screen.  Escape from
  37. the program can be effected with the usual abort signal.

  39.      A minimum shareware fee of $5 each ($15 for the three) is
  40. being asked for the programs.  It is unlikely that free upgrades
  41. will be made available for this fee although phone or mail
  42. questions will be answered on a best effort basis.  Notices of
  43. any additions to the series will be provided to those paying the
  44. fee.
