ELEMENTARY PHYSICS 1A - STATICS

This is a three-part series of tutorial programs that
introduces the student to the elementary concepts of Static
Forces and Moments. The first part is on Coordinate Systems, the
second on Vectors, and the third on Statics. This is the
conventional approach to the subject and provides a background
for continuing study of physics and engineering topics.
The programs were written for VGA color graphics but have
been adapted to operate automatically in EGA or CGA color or
Hercules monographic modes, also. Each program requires 128K of
RAM. The programs are on the executable MS-DOS files
COORDSYS.EXE, VECTORS.EXE, and STATICS.EXE and they are run by
typing the words COORDSYS, VECTORS, or STATICS.
It has been assumed that the student is familiar with
elementary algebra, plane geometry, and plane trigonometry.
Although explained in the programs, it will be emphasized
here that long waits have been introduced between parts of the
programs and you are expected to override them with a return or
space bar entry when you are ready to continue. However, most
constructions and formula lists proceed automatically at a rate
which is considered appropriate. Also, after each complete
clearing of the screen (except for the very first one) typing a
'b' or a 'B' will return you to the previous screen. Escape from
the program can be effected with the usual abort signal.
A minimum shareware fee of $5 each ($15 for the three) is
being asked for the programs. It is unlikely that free upgrades
will be made available for this fee although phone or mail
questions will be answered on a best effort basis. Notices of
any additions to the series will be provided to those paying the
fee.
